For air-to-air or ground-to-air testing and training, Wallop Defence Systems produce specific emission, high-reliability Missile Tracking Flares for tail-tracked guided missiles and Target Flares for target enhancement from visible to IR spectra.
The Flare Tracking IR No.1, Mk.1 was developed for use on RPVs to provide a long-lasting IR signature for live missile training. Fixed by nose stud or bands, it is designed to reduce any RPV impact damage to an absolute minimum. A similar flare is used in the tracking of the MBDA Rapier SHORAD missile.
Featuring full ‘Rad Haz’ protection, Flare Tracking No.2 and No.3 were developed for Flight Refuelling’s ‘Rushton’ target and are suitable for both towed and self-powered targets, providing visual and IR enhancement respectively.
Flare Target No.11 and No.12 can be used on most types of towed target, offering cheap, reliable enhancement aids. Nose stud or band mounted, they are contained in a steel outer case and initiated by a single wirebridge fusehead.
Also designed originally for the ‘Rushton’, ‘A’ Series Towed Target Flares have proved successful on several makes of towed and self-powered targets and RPVs. Full ‘Rad Haz’ protection and three mounting options are provided.
