Float Smoke and Flame
This buoyant device is designed to be released from helicopters and fixed wing
aircraft to indicate a position in the sea for both day and night marking.
The device operates either by contact with sea water via a sea cell (No.2 Mk.3)
or impact using a percussion mechanism (No.1 Mk.5).
The float may be carried and released from bomb carriers, small bomb
dispensers and launching chutes or it may be dropped by hand from helicopters.
